Saint Michael’s is a parish in Gallatin shaped by the Anglican way: Scripture, sacramental worship, common prayer, and a life of service shared by clergy and laity.
01 — The Anglican story
Christian faith, received and handed on.
Anglican Christianity grew from the ancient church in Britain and was given its distinctive shape through the English Reformation. It is both catholic and reformed: grounded in Holy Scripture, confessed in the historic creeds, centered on Baptism and Holy Communion, and ordered through bishops, priests, and deacons.
Saint Michael’s is part of the Anglican Church in North America and the Anglican Diocese of the South, sharing this inheritance with a worldwide family of churches.

Catholic and Reformed
The English Reformation renewed the Church’s emphasis on the primacy of Holy Scripture while retaining the historic creeds, sacraments, and ordered ministry of bishops, priests, and deacons.
A people formed by common prayer
Thomas Cranmer’s first Book of Common Prayer gathered biblical, catholic, and reformed worship in the language of the people. Common prayer became a hallmark of Anglican faith and life.
A worldwide family
Anglican churches now serve in more than 165 countries. Across cultures, faithful Anglicans remain joined by Scripture, the historic creeds, the Prayer Book tradition, and the gospel mission of Jesus Christ.
02 — Our local story
A young parish in a historic sanctuary.
Saint Michael’s story joins two histories: an Anglican congregation founded in 2005 and a Shiloh worshiping site whose roots reach back to 1793. The brick sanctuary that welcomes us today was completed in 1871.
When Saint Michael’s made the building its home in 2015, a new Anglican parish took up the stewardship of a place already marked by generations of prayer. We are grateful to worship here and to carry that witness forward.
Worship begins at Shiloh
Shiloh Presbyterian Church was organized in Sumner County, establishing a Christian witness on the land long before the present sanctuary was built.
The brick sanctuary is built
The enduring Shiloh church building was completed with locally made brick. Its simple beauty still shapes worship at 105 Shiloh Road.
Saint Michael’s is planted
Saint Michael’s began as an Anglican church plant: a new parish rooted in the historic Christian faith and committed to life together in Gallatin.
A new parish makes an old church home
Saint Michael’s moved into the Shiloh sanctuary, beginning a new chapter of prayer, Holy Communion, fellowship, and service in this historic place.
03 — Who’s who
The people who serve Saint Michael’s.
Parish ministry is shared. Our diocesan bishops provide episcopal oversight, clergy lead worship and pastoral care, staff support the church’s daily life, and the elected vestry shares responsibility for the parish’s mission and stewardship.

The Most Rev. Dr. Foley Beach
Archbishop Foley serves as Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the South. Consecrated in 2010 as the diocese’s first bishop, he served as Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church in North America from 2014 to 2024.Assisting Bishop
